HYDERABAD PARALYSED BY TELANGANA BANDH

Hyderabad: Normal life was badly affected as the day-long Hyderabad bandh called by the Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) as part of the ongoing agitation for a separate State, began here on Friday.
Shops and business establishments remained closed in many parts of the city. Schools and other educational institutions have already declared holidays for the Dussehra festival.
With pro-Telangana employees of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) already participating in the ‘Sakala Janula Samme’, RTC buses remained off the roads.
Police have made elaborate security arrangements in view of the shutdown and bandh has been peaceful as of now.
TRS MLA and party president K. Chandrasekhara Rao’s son K.T. Rama Rao said a party delegation would go to Delhi on Friday evening to meet the Centre leadership and urge them to take an early decision on the demand for a separate state.
