Ponnam Prabhakar targets Chief Minister at CLP meeting

The Congress Legislature Party meeting here on Thursday witnessed fireworks with the Telangana Congress MPs hitting out at Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for allegedly sending ‘misleading' reports to the Centre on the statehood issue.
The meeting that lasted over an hour here saw a resolution being passed paving the way for formal merger of the Praja Rajyam with the Congress. The meeting decided to treat the YSR Congress Party on a par with the Telugu Desam Party as rivals of Congress.
The differences between the Congress MPs from Telangana and the Chief Minister came out in the open once again with Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar lamenting that the region was discriminated against in allotment of budget as well as taking up developmental works. Former Minister Gade Venkat Reddy staged a walkout saying that the CLP was not the venue to discuss such issues.
Peddapalli MP G. Vivekananda flayed the government for providing unprecedented security to TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu during his recent tour of Telangana.
The Chief Minister refuted the allegations saying that he was merely discharging his duties. The CLP decided to recommend installation of B.R. Ambedkar's statue in the Assembly.
